Not sure where to put this post, but it's been on my heart, so here goes:

This Christmas season, I challenge you (plural) to try tithing (giving 10% to church causes) on your income to see if God exists. Many times in Scripture God warns us not to put him to the test--except in Malachi 4, where he says, regarding tithing, "Test me in this...and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it."

Now you could just give to a church, any church, at random, or help stock a local food pantry, OR here's a cause that you might be unaware of but interested in: Teen MOPS. MOPS is a Christian organization providing babysitting during meetings to help educate and enrich the lives of mothers of all children who are not yet in school (Mothers Of Pre-Schoolers is the acronym). Teen MOPS is set up especially for teen-age mothers. Many of the groups have a resource you can give to called MOPSmart--a store of donated items which the girls can earn by doing things that enrich their lives, such as staying in school, going to a doctor's appointment, or enrolling in the WIC nutrition program.
