i loved this.
elizabeth hasselbeck annoys me to no end.
i still loved this.

(=

also, they brought up a point i've always wondered about:
when god supposedly 'talks' to a person, how do we/they know they're not simply imagining things?
the mind has created far more bizarre things, so to me, it seems far more likely that it's just one's own imagination going overboard.  humans have been known for how may thousands of years to fabricate and project things via their own minds, so why should this be any different than an internally-inspired manifestation?
i'd like to see some thoughts on this.

I think you know where I stand on this type of thing, but I thought I'd give my two cents.

There is absolutely no way to verify that someone else is not imagining things. All we can do is verify to a reasonable degree whether they believe they're telling the truth.

Similarly, there's no way to verify whether other people really exist or if you're just having a really vivid vision (hence the reason movies like The Matrix and The Truman Show hit a nerve in our society).

I liked the post that said God is everywhere.Amen to that!
If God is in your heart and taking care of you you have no need to fear his ways and love will be revealed to you.
He is the most beauitful precious thing,
he is our greatest friend he will not forsake us,We can pray and make our needs known to him,
He doesnt say he will do it all .But he will definite lead you not only in this life,
But he has a place a special place prepared for the church, like a bridegroom for his church,
He has sacrificed his son that we may be saved,He knocks on the door of our heart .
Will you let him come in !!
 power and glory unspeakable,
and in these times I pray that many shall find him,He is the Way the truth and the life that any that come and receive him shall not perish.

Were you home schooled or something?

The point of this forum is discussion, not preaching. I used to be Christian and I know the whole spiel. As does everyone else in here.

Do you have anything constructive to add?

this is why context is so important.  an entire group of christians could claim to have seen jesus, but they're all of the mindset that he exists already; a group of buddhists seeing jesus would be more convincing and definitely deserving of attention.

'visions' people have tend to be based on their beliefs; rarely does a vision contradict or differ from one's religious notions.
