First, read this - http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/factchecking_debate_no_2.html

Then read my rant-

McCain was annoying the hell out of me last night for some reason. He did seem to realize, however, how fucking annoying the word 'maverick' has become. Not to let that phase him, he annoyed me even more by repeating 'my friends.'

McCain: We're not your friends and never will be. STFU.

Both of these guys are somewhat boring me with repetition but I doubt that can be avoided much.

Neither followed the rules completely, especially Obama. However, I think the points he made whilst breaking the rules were important to make. He was showing that he's in this to win.

McCain's fingers must be blistered from trying to tug on everyone's heart strings with his know-it-all / all-troops-are-my-brother attitude. I get that you want to convey respect and honor to these people but you can do a better job at that by getting them the fuck out of situations like they're currently in. Stop supporting idiotic ideas like the fucking 'surge.' If ONE thing works out of five hundred and you keep touting it as your victory, you're an idiot.

Why Obama hasn't said something to that effect evades me but perhaps he's waiting until the last minute to strike. I've read/heard that's how he operates.

In general, the candidates must not be reading factcheck.org because they're repeating the same numbers. Perhaps it's to stay consistent, but to me it comes off as a lack of interest in factual information.

NONE THE LESS, Obama did touch on the middle class and McCain did not. I'm sure people were listening for this. McCain wants to make sure EVERYone gets a tax cut. Obama wants to give tax cuts to families who earn less than $200k and won't raise taxes on families who earn less than $250k.

To me, ideally all people would see tax cuts because that's just fair.

However, that's not realistic and does nothing to bolster the economy. If the economy is weak, you need to support the lower and middle classes with more funds to spend while the upper class already has the money to spend. Give money to people who need it, not everyone across the board and we will be well on our way back to a stable economy.
